Neat, learned something today.
For the longest time I thought it was just a callback / nod to Nikola Tesla, the guy that invented the electric AC current system.
Which is ironic since you make electric cars lol.

Yeah, we wanted to name our company after Tesla, the great scientist/engineer, but use of the Tesla name in automotive was already trademarked in the US, Europe & later China.
