SpaceX used less than 20 H-1B workers between 2011 and 2024. Less than 20. They hire almost 100% American, because defense contractors are heavily restricted from employing visa-holders. And it works. We have the people. We have the talent. But companies want cheaper labour.

President @realDonaldTrump is right. We must distinguish clearly between companies that need to hire critical world-class talent from other countries vs companies that simply hire lower cost non-US employees to increase profits. SpaceX has succeeded *despite* not being unable to hire critical world-class talent from other countries due to ITAR laws. Had we been able to do so, our progress would have been faster. Tesla, which is not restricted by ITAR, progress has been greatly enhanced due to being able to hire world-class people from other countries, in addition to hiring every ace we can find in America.
