The fact that Ford still thinks the reason to make EVs is to reduce emissions tells you how little legacy auto understands this paradigm shift.
Autonomy is a tidal wave. Once cars are autonomous, the operational costs of combustion vehicles become completely untenable.

Many years ago, I said that non-autonomous combustion vehicles would be like riding a horse while using a flip phone, but you can’t cram a good idea down the throat of legacy industries. They just insist on dying.
