IMHO this is primarily because the *benefits* of AI are still spread on an *extreme* power law distribution. A few people, primarily in tech, are reaping enormous windfalls, while for the vast majority of the population AI seems extremely nebulous, at best.

It’s actually completely crazy to me that some people still doubt the future of AI. We are watching a once in human history exponential takeoff and I promise even the most optimistic predictions underestimate impact.
