Nice. I bought the nichegamer.com off a squatter for $900, hoping to get a trademark for it soon too :)

Tesla history trivia: we didn’t actually come up with the Tesla Motors name. Bought trademark off Brad Siewert for $75k in late 2004. He’d originally filed for it in 1994. Our alternative name was Faraday, which was used by a competitor several years later.

Buying took over a decade, $11M & amazing amount of effort. Didn’t like even when we were only making 🚘.

What's in a name? For Tesla, $75,000. Elon Musk says he had to buy his company's name—and tells Lesley Stahl how he pronounces "Tesla."

It seems like you’ve made some really big changes recently. Is this why we didn’t get a big technical rundown at #dearmoon or IAC this year? So what’s with the big mandrels at the port? Or those carbon tanks shown off for the past couple years?

Aluminum. Some parts are carbon composite (interstage) their new Starship and Super Heavy will be all carbon composite (mostly)

As far as we know, it’s the largest single piece titanium casting in the world. Major improvement over the old aluminum grid fins, as the titanium doesn’t need heat shielding or even paint.

Is there one pump for all fins (Presumably with backup).
Elon Musk
Elon Musk
@elonmusk · Dec 5, 2018
Pump is single string. Some landing systems are not redundant, as landing is considered ground safety critical, but not mission critical. Given this event, we will likely add a backup pump & lines.

Grid fin hydraulic pump stalled, so Falcon landed just out to sea. Appears to be undamaged & is transmitting data. Recovery ship dispatched.

Falcon fairing halves missed the net, but touched down softly in the water. Mr Steven is picking them up. Plan is to dry them out & launch again. Nothing wrong with a little swim.
