I had been confused about articles mentioning occasional “negative electricity prices” from wind and solar plants to the grid. Why can’t they just unplug? It turns out that in some areas they get sufficient subsidies per KW/h that it can still be profitable to sell KW/h below 0.

I spent time in the Amazon a few years ago, internet was a joke (as expected). No bandwidth, constant drop-outs etc.
Ppl underestimate the impact of a high-speed, reliable internet in isolates communities. Access to information enables people to lift selves out of poverty
