No, it’s got enough load capacity & volume to carry the battery pack & our current pack energy density is about double that of original Roadster. Still, it would probably only save about 30% to 40% of effort, all things considered.

What really matters is time to volume production, not initial market intro. Apart from brief moments, Tesla vehicle production is limited by total battery output.

Lot on our plate, so it’s either get van gliders (no battery, powertrain or compute tech) from Daimler & produce sooner or do all & produce later. Not a big difference to total vehicles produced either way. Priority list is Model Y, solar roof tiles, pickup, semi, Roadster.

Thanks, We would like to see next day availability on parts across the UK/Europe as it costs Tesla excess money in loaners (that are often ICE). Plenty of stock needed for things like doors, keys, wipers, paint chip kits, chademos etc. 👍

Ok. Parts supply is not fixed. One service location needed some wiper blades, they ordered a box of 10 and that request was turned down, as they only had 20 for the whole of Europe!! Needs someone like UPS to manage and distrubute inventory like other car brands IMO.

OK but is that practical currently? I’ve seen wait times of 3 hours+ for just a Tesla tow truck in the past. Is someone at Tesla going to be there 24/7 ready with a loaner anywhere in the country? Also, up to 4 month wait for parts in the UK, OK to be in a loaner all that time?

Would love for @tesla to have upgradable hardware as well. Still looking for a way to upgrade my 1st gen seats to to 2nd gen. At least for the back seats. Possible to retrofit to early model 3s?
