This is *exactly* what I predicted would happen. I said Chinese models would have advanced cyber capabilities within a matter of months and the only thing to do about it was to use AI-powered cyberdefense to protect our systems. Trying to gatekeep models doesn’t work.
Sebastian MallabySebastian Mallaby@scmallaby· Jul 17, 2026
I get it. But Kimi K3 also tells us that Mythos-level cyber capability is going to be freely downloadable soon. So we will go from a world in which almost nobody was getting Mythos to a world in which everyone gets it. @davidsacks, what's your story on how we address this?

One thing that really frustrates me is when Tesla Self-Driving exits the carpool lane or express lane and then gets stuck in traffic. As I see everyone else whizzing by in the far left lane, I get extremely annoyed knowing I should be there too. Respect the settings please 🙏

7 equations every engineer should understand, not just know: 1. F = ma (Newton's Second Law) Force = mass × acceleration. Everything that moves or is prevented from moving obeys this. Every structural load, every vehicle dynamics problem, every rocket trajectory. 2. σ = F/A

Kinetic energy being equal to half mass times velocity squared (the general case of the relativity equation) is an insanely big deal in everyday life. That and the surface to volume ratio explain so much about our reality!

Try Grok 4.5

I’m running Fable, K3, 5.6 and 4.5 like 10 hours a day and they are all sick. At work, at home. I have subscriptions for many of them at both locations. But you know which model legit doesn’t get enough hype? GROK. I’m so serious. Even on 𝕏 it doesn’t get enough hype cause we

I gave xAI a lot of shit for Grok Build’s repo-upload behavior, so they deserve the same volume when they fix it. I pulled the new signed release, planted fake secrets, and captured its HTTPS traffic with MITM proxies. The fix held as retention was off on first login and had no
AraAra@arafatkatze· Jul 14, 2026
Grok Build is straight up malware behavior with an Apple notarized signature. You could explicitly deny the agent permission to read a file and it would upload that exact file anyway, because a separate code path silently packed your entire repo, full Git history included, and

Grok 4.5 is only 1.5T parameters. Kimi K3 is 2.8T... and costs more per task. SpaceXAI cracked intelligence efficiency. Now imagine Grok at 3T.

Our 2T model, which is better than our 1.5T in every way, will finish initial training next week. It might be able to exceed Kimi, but with speed and token efficiency close to our 1.5T (aka Grok 4.5).

observation if I may… More input from primary sources and real-world data, with less reliance on potentially biased secondary sources like Wikipedia would be high-leverage for Grok. Training data quality remains one of the biggest remaining advantages in model development.
