Huge congrats to @AIatMeta on the Llama 3.1 release!
Few notes:
Today, with the 405B model release, is the first time that a frontier-capability LLM is available to everyone to work with and build on. The model appears to be GPT-4 / Claude 3.5 Sonnet grade and the weights are

Elon Musk says it's easy to increase the number of parameters in FSD – The challenge is to increase them while maintaining a high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR)
Elon Musk@elonmusk· Jul 23, 2024@alex_avoigt It’s easy to increase params. Making them high SNR is hard.

Here’s my position on this race.
1. Can’t support Trump. Too risky.
2. All in for @VP if she promotes a centrist platform.
3. Sit it out if @VP veers left (as Biden was starting to).

I once jokingly suggested that a VR Twitter app that only scrolled to the next post when you did a squat would be excellent exercise.
Fitness turned out to be one of the durable uses of VR, so I’m actually wondering if Meta could add a tiny bit of WebXR input code into the web

5X increase in parameters is mind-boggling 🤯
Elon Musk@elonmusk· Jul 23, 2024@wholemars We are focusing on just Model Y with HW4 for the initial release. Make sure that works well, then broaden.
This has the 5X increase in parameters.
HW3 would run the same parameter count, but requires extra work to optimize the code.

Hi @elonmusk it appears HW4 cars have gotten 12.5 but not HW3
Can you confirm whether this is the next gen model with 5x parameter count you described in a previous X post?
If so, I imagine HW3 will run a quantized version or something?
