"Models training on each other's data is like a human centipede effect" 💀💀

Sadly quite true. It takes a lot of work to purge LLMs from the Internet training data. Grok 2, which comes out in August, will be a giant improvement in this regard.

On this day in 1916, British Empire and French forces launch a major offensive against the German lines along the River Somme. The four-and-a-half months of heavy fighting that follow generate a million casualties — an average of 7,000 per day for 140 days straight.

"Why are Waterloo engineers so f*cking cracked"
Because Waterloo was one of the only colleges with meritocratic admissions.
Anybody who's went through the grind of making your way to the top through the long path (no Ivy League) is hungry and has a chip on their shoulder.

Waterloo is a great engineering school. Almost went there instead of Queens, but (at least back then) the campus was almost entirely dudes. Very limited dating pool.

The media is getting it all wrong. It's actually Trump who has mentally declined. The debate is going to change everything once people see how bad Trump's cognitive decline really is.

Twelve Against the Gods by Bolitho
Genghis Khan by Weatherford
The first one on the list will take a while to get through, but is very much worthwhile.
Admittedly, this is a list that appeals to those who think about Rome every day.
I hope someone makes an audiobook of The Encyclopedia of Military History by Dupuy and The Fifteen Decisive Battles of the World by Creasy.

Happy #AsteroidDay from Bennu! 🪨
This series of images was taken during @nasa's OSIRIS-REx mission. We suspected it, and now it’s confirmed: the OSIRIS-REx sample from asteroid Bennu contains life’s building blocks such as carbon, nitrogen, and organic compounds.
