Vivek Ramaswamy@VivekGRamaswamy· Sep 22, 2024Here’s a reasonable deal: if we pass the SAVE Act right now, both sides can agree that neither will complain about a stolen election afterward. But the fact that this *can’t* happen says a lot about where we are: it shouldn’t be controversial to require proof of citizenship to

FSD is mind-blowing: had zero safety critical interventions on a random 40-minute drive.
Still having some trouble getting my mom to use it – The fact the steering wheel resistance thing and the nag are now gone helps A LOT though.
ALEX@ajtourville· Sep 22, 2024Trying out FSD 12.5.1.3 later today in my mom's new Model 3

I'm still amazed SpaceX went with relatively dirt-cheap stainless steel sheet metal while everybody else is going with expensive CNC-machined aluminum alloy plates and/or super-expensive carbon fiber composites.
SpaceX@SpaceX· Sep 21, 2024Starship stacked for Flight 5 and ready for launch, pending regulatory approval

@elonmusk · Sep 22, 2024
A stainless steel Starship is essentially the same mass as an advanced carbon fiber or aluminum-lithium version, given that it is a reusable rocket, as steel can handle much higher heat loads, requiring less shielding, and its strength increases dramatically at cryogenic temperatures.
No paint or other surface coating is needed for stainless. Those add mass and cost and tend to get scratched or burn off.
We are also tweaking the steel alloying elements and forming methods to achieve higher material specs than usual.

Today I learned there are LARGE groups of retired senior citizens who move to Las Vegas with the very explicit intention of spending all of their money playing slot machines until they die.
They budget carefully, manage their spend, and play slots all day, knowing they’ll lose.

U.S. presidents net worth before and after office:
Ronald Reagan: $10.6M ➡️ $15.4M
George H.W. Bush: $4M ➡️ $23M
Bill Clinton: $1.3M ➡️ $241.5M
George W. Bush: $20M ➡️ $40M
Barack Obama: $1.3M ➡️ $70M
Donald Trump: $3.7B ➡️ $2.5B
Numbers don’t lie.
What are your thoughts

Many people see Waymo and think they’re ahead of everyone in the autonomous driving race. After all, they’re giving out over 100,000 paid robotaxi rides a week across cities like San Francisco, Phoenix, and Los Angeles with a fleet of 700 vehicles, and on the surface, it could
